This practical one year course will introduce you to the theory and practice of the carpentry and joinery trade. It will also give you the basic grounding to progress on to higher studies.

    You will study

    • Health, safety and welfare in construction
    • Principles of building contsruction, information and communication
    • Producing basic woodworking joints.
    • How to maintain and use carpentry and joinery hand tools
    • How to prepare and use carpentry and joinery portable power tools
  • Entry Requirements

    If you don’t have English and maths at grade 3, you will be asked to take an English and maths test.

  • Assessment

    Practical assignment and externally assessesed online tests

  • Moving Forward

    Employment as a qualified tradesperson
